Armed Forces Day Competition

Every year I hold an Armed Forces Day Competition for Kirkby businesses in the town centre, in honour of the late Adrian Sheldon, a lovely young man who lived in Kirkby who sadly lost his life serving in Afghanistan at 25 years old.

On Friday, Adrian’s Mother Dianne Sheldon, judged the shop windows for the best dressed shopfront with Armed Forces decor. The winner gets to display the Adrian Sheldon Memorial Trophy until next year’s competition.

The competition was stiff once again with some top entries with beautiful displays, but the winner was The Artful Buttoner wool shop at 5 Kingsway, Kirkby in Ashfield, NG17 7BB

The Adrian Sheldon Memorial Trophy will now be engraved with the name of this years’ winner.
