Reform UK Councillors Attended the Nottinghamshire Flag Raising Event at County Hall ready for Nottinghamshire Day on 25th August.

Whilst the whole country is currently raising our St George and Union Flags to put pride back into our country, we at Ashfield Reform UK also raised our Nottinghamshire flags in unison to celebrate Nottinghamshire Day on 25th August.

Nottinghamshire Day is an opportunity to celebrate the identity, heritage, culture, and local traditions of our county. It is a way to champion our local communities, to better understand and celebrate the histories and traditions of the places we live, work and enjoy in our leisure time.

Nottinghamshire Day takes place on the 25 August as this date marks the anniversary of the start of the English Civil War, an event triggered by King Charles I raising the royal standard at Nottingham Castle in 1642.

However, as many already know, Nottinghamshire is famous all over the world for its ties to the legendary outlaw Robin Hood who is believed to have lived in medieval Nottinghamshire using Sherwood Forest as his famous hideout for him and his band of merry men.

To that end, Reform UK Councillors at Nottinghamshire County Councillors celebrated the day with Robin Hood and Lady Marion as they raised the County's flag at County Hall in West Bridgford.
