Cllr Rich took to social media to call out the Ashfield Independent District Councillors, including his predecessor at County level, Samantha Deakin, for ignoring residents' problems that have been piling up over years.

Cllr Joseph Rich said:

"I’ve been flat out dealing with district-level issues that have been piling up – issues that should be dealt with by the Ashfield Independents, especially Cllr Samantha Deakin and Cllr Vicki Heslop, who sadly seem to have gone missing when residents need them most."

"While it's not my role as a County Councillor to handle district responsibilities, I refuse to sit back while fly-tipping increases, bins are left out for weeks, pavements remain unsafe, and residents are ignored. I’ve stepped in, because someone has to."

"I believe public service is about being present, being accountable, and actually doing the work – not just posting for likes or turning up at election time."

"I’ve been anything but quiet out in the community – working hard to make sure your concerns are heard and acted on."

"If you’ve got an issue that’s not being addressed, get in touch. I’ll keep doing what I can, even when others won't."
