On Friday I met again with management of the NHS Trust that runs Kings Mill Hospital to discuss the closure of the hydrotherapy pool there.

Residents have explained to me how the pool has been vital in supporting their recovery and pain management. On Friday, I took a resident along with me so he could explain first hand why the pool should stay open.

The team from the Trust explained what changes they had in mind and why. They believe that land-based physiotherapy is effective and more people can use it. As Kings Mill pays for the pool, they say they can no longer afford the cost.

As residents throughout the area benefit from this pool I am writing to the Health Secretary and will ask for the funding to be given. Labour promised to fix the NHS, let’s see if they will put their money where their mouth is.
