Ashfield Reform UK launches scathing attack at new council group for 'faux outrage'.

It comes as Hucknall Councillor David Shaw wrote a column in the local newspaper, The Chad, responding to comments made by Lee Anderson MP describing the councillors' new District Alliance group on Ashfield District Council as a rebranded Ashfield Independents.

A row has erupted following Lee Anderson MP's column in The Chad newspaper last week.
The MP wrote about the ten ex-Ashfield Independent Councillors who have formed a new group and named themselves 'District Alliance'.
The new group is being led by Hucknall West Councillor David Shaw.
Lee Anderson MP described this new group as 'the same clowns just with different makeup' and as 'wolves in sheep's clothing' who are 'trying to gaslight the public with a rebrand.'
This prompted the District Alliance leader Councillor Shaw to respond with a column in The Chad of his own.
In his column, Councillor Shaw makes the argument that his new groups' Councillors should be judged on their decisions and their voting record.
We absolutely agree.
The problem is, the majority of Councillors in his new District Alliance group voted to appoint Jason Zadrozny to the Planning Committee, even after his fraud conviction.
So it stands to assume that the majority of Dave Shaw's new group clearly have no problem with a corrupt criminal fraudster being responsible for development in the Ashfield District.
So what else are residents supposed to think other than that this new group are trying to gaslight residents with their faux outrage, and are really just rebranded Ashfield Independents?
Where was their outrage up until this point? It's been the worst kept secret in Ashfield for a number of years now that Jason Zadrozny is a deplorable individual.
Councillor Gascoyne knew this, and he put his principles first and left the Ashfield Independents some time ago - unlike the councillors in Councillor Shaw's new group who have only just recently left now that it is politically convenient for them to do so.
In Councillor Shaw's column, he foolishly tries to imply that Reform UK is a rebranded Conservative Party, even though he will know that Reform was born from the ground in direct opposition to the Conservatives having let the country down time and time again.
Councillor Shaw also points to the fact that our Member of Parliament, Lee Anderson MP, was first a Labour councillor, then a Conservative MP, and now a Reform MP.
But there are 2 significant differences that have clearly gone over Councillor Shaw's head.
Firstly, Lee has not been propping up a corrupt council leader for years like District Alliance's Councillors have done. And secondly, Lee has been voted in 3 times by the same residents irrelevant of his party.
When it comes to the District Alliance however, residents can see through Councillor Shaw's attempt to gaslight them. They see this new group for what it is, a desperate attempt to cling onto their seats.
We look forward to the Ashfield Independents and the District Alliance being sacked by Ashfield residents next May.
