"Re: Islamic Extremism and Antisemitism"

"I am writing to share my concern at the continued rise of Islamist extremism and antisemitism across the country, and to urge you to take strong action to tackle these threats."

"I am disgusted with the level of inaction from this government in the face of such open and persistent hatred directed towards the Jewish community on our streets. For the last few years, we have seen repeated incidents of abuse, harassment and intimidation towards Jews in this country, while the glorification of terrorism has become a routine occurrence in our major cities."

"The truth is these are not isolated incidents. Recent events point to a systematic failure by the Government and the police to confront Islamist extremist ideology and to enforce the law without fear or favour. Worst of all, this failure to act and take decisive action has led to real world consequences. As we have seen recently in Manchester and Sydney, these ideologies are leading to extreme violence and the loss of innocent lives."

"We know that Islamist extremism and antisemitism are fundamentally incompatible with British values. We cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend otherwise. It’s not enough to hand out empty promises and ban people from chanting certain phrases at mass protests. When they say they want to “globalise the intifada”, believe them. We want these dangerous people to be identified and rooted out, for all our safety and security. Antisemitism may not be directed towards everyone, but the ideology behind it threatens all of us."

"Antisemitism, whether brought in from overseas or grown at home, must be confronted and dealt with. Our constituents rightly expect the Government to protect them, uphold our national security and defend the rule of law. We should be ashamed by just how unsafe Jewish people are being made to feel in their own country."

"For far too long politicians have stood idly by to avoid causing offence or conflict with certain groups in society. This cowardly culture of appeasement has failed in the face of Islamist extremism, and we shouldn’t be surprised. The Jewish community have been warning politicians for years. Bowing to the mob has now led to people being murdered, just as they predicted."

"I have one simple question for you: what are you going to do about it?"

"Yours sincerely,"

"Lee Anderson"

"Member of Parliament for Ashfield"
